I forgot to give him Telekinesis. The player really likes TK.
That got me thinking about how I could make him better, keeping in mind that the player doesn't like to use direct attacks, but more stuff like increasing and decreasing gravity for effects, etc...
Anyone want to help?
Oh and he HAS to clock in at no more than 40 points... well maybe not... since he could suck the setbacks... Let's say no more than 45 points.
I'm in, though I want to let it percolate for a few minutes. My first thoughts, since you have 10 pts to spend (he was 30, now 40?) would be:
Add TK to the multipower; it looks like a 9 pt base so that gives plenty of room to play with. You can go all the way up toTK 5, variable, with 3 extra points to put into range / area. Since it is a mental power, it costs 2 pts to add it to the multipower.
Personally, I'd want the Deflect to be outside the multipower so I can keep it up throughout a combat. Then, to represent focused attention on defense, add a Force Field in the vacated multipower slot. A gravity force field is one of the things I always think about when picturing comic book gravity manipulators like Graviton from Marvel, and it is a great utility power letting him protect innocents, teammates, etc. as well as imprison enemies.
That would bring him from 30 to 35 pts. Let's see...
I don't see there TK in the Multipower, or the Deflect now, since he wants to be able to use them all the time, so that puts the Immobilize, Slow and the Push in the Multipower still.
Force Field might work, but only if linked with Telekinesis.
High-Gravity Zone: Weaken [Agility, Huge Burst]
Gravity Surge: Daze [Huge Burst]
Moon Bounce: Super Jump [Usable on Others, Huge Burst]
High Personal Gravity: Density Increase [Usable on Others, Huge Burst]
I'd make the High Grav Zone be Linked with Weaken Brawn too (man that's nasty).
I think Immobilize makes more sense for the "Gravity Surge" though.
As for the "Moon Bounce" you could probably do that easier with "X Mastery"- simply say "I'm reducing gravity here by 1/6th" roll to see if you can do it- and if you can, everyone can jump 6x farther, and takes 1/6th falling damage.
When I said he likes to increase and decrease the gravity, I should have mentioned it was more along the lines of slamming people down (Immobilize/Slow/Weaken) or shooting them straight up (Push?)
Force Fields would work though... and I like;
High-Gravity Zone: Weaken [Agility, Huge Burst]
Gravity Surge: Daze [Huge Burst]
High Personal Gravity: Density Increase [Usable on Others, Huge Burst]
Why not just have the TK and the Forcefield seperately? He can use the TK on the forcefield bubble as a seperate action- and also use TK independantly of the force field (& vice versa).

Well aside from the point saving, we sort of see his force field power like Sue Storm's and in the Force Field thread it was made clear that you couldn't move Force Fields on their own and so it jsut made sense to link it with TK.
Sounds like a neat idea to me. The same force that generates his force field also lets him move stuff around. So whatever he moves is protected by the force field too.
High-Gravity Zone: Weaken [Agility, Huge Burst]
Gravity Surge: Daze [Huge Burst]
Moon Bounce: Super Jump [Usable on Others, Huge Burst]
High Personal Gravity: Density Increase [Usable on Others, Huge Burst]
Ratix: Those are some pretty creative ideas, there. I especially like the Moon Bounce!

Thanks for offering up that one. It really helps the creative juices to see some innovative uses for the X Mastery power. I have a hard time thinking ‘outside the box’ with that power.
