Age of Olympus supplement

Post by Jason_Sunday »

I'm curious what you envision the Age of Olympus supplement to be exactly. Originally I was thinking it would be a totally new game but from the free adventure it looks more like a setting book and plus creatures. How much will it barrow from Bash! Fantasy (like energy points and soak)?

from the BASH! website:
Age of Olympus
Journey back to ancient Greece, where the Gods clashed with the Titans! Age of Olympus is a suppliment for BASH! Ultimate Edition which allows the players to take on the role of Olympion Gods, Heroes, and more. Essentially, it is a "Fantasy Super Heroes" setting.

I posted a lengthy reply to this, and it seems my post was eaten.

Age of Olympus is for BASH! UE. It does not use any different rules for Soak or Energy.

The difference between AoO and BASH! Fantasy is in the scale of events.

In BASH! Fantasy, one or two cyclops would pose a serious threat to a party of fighters, thieves, and a wizard.

In AoO, your party of a flying fiery son of Helios, Hercules, a hero with weapons forged by the gods themselves, etc, would fight a TRIBE of Cyclops. And they'd be minions.

I have already posted up a free sort of introduction to the setting adventure here:
http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php? ... s_id=96545

In essence it is a superheroes setting, but instead of being against a backdrop of the modern world, it is the ancient world. Instead of people getting their powers from various sources, from radioactive accidents to super science, it pretty much is usually magic, artifacts, monstrous ancestry, etc, that gives people powers.

You could take just about any superhero build and translate them to work with AoO. Many tech gadgets can simply be changed to be magical in nature. A character that is a robot can easily be changed into a machine created by Hephestus himself. A super-fast healing guy with razor claws that come out of his hands? He's the son of some sort of animal spirit.

Instead of giant robots attacking the city, the heroes would face off against giant... giants attacking the city.

Awesome! This looks like a lot of fun and I am anxiously awaiting this. Great way to have cool supers action with that 300 and Immortals - esque taste.

Do we have a release date on this?

Do you have some one doing the art or have you not set that in stone yet?
