Third Party Publishing Policy

Basic Action Games will begin a Third Party Publishing policy, for those of you who want to create and sell your own products for the BASH! system.

Taking part has 3 requirements:

1. The Product will need some language that says that it requires BASH! UE to play- this means that you cannot just reprint the BASH! UE rules inside your product- you can reference the rules, but not reprint them wholesale. It will also need some language pointing to the Basic Action Games website and have the Basic Action Games logo in there next to this paragraph. The exact language will be drafted and made available in a couple weeks.

2. The Product will need to carry a logo on the front that indicates that it is for use with BASH! UE. Right now, this logo is still being designed, and will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

3. Each product would need to be submitted for approval to Basic Action Games. This would be to protect the BASH brand from being associated with inappropriate stuff, makes sure the product meets quality standards, and also to keep two publishers from making the same product, or from making a product Basic Action Games was already making. The first step would be the initial proposal for a third party product, and once that is given the green light, you will also need to submit the completed product for review for the final greenlight. Once the final greenlight is given, you can publish and sell your product.

This policy will eventually be translated into Legalese in the form of a contract, and may be updated; but in the meantime it will operate on good-faith and mutual agreement between the third party and Basic Action Games.

Basic Action Games will not demand a share of the profits from this project. If it is your work, and you put up the capital for the artwork, layout, etc, then the profit is yours!

If you want to collaborate with Basic Action Games on a project, and plan to share costs/profits, we're open to that as well.

UPDATE:
Here is the current compatibility logos. As you can see, you've got a choice of 3 colors, that way you can pick the one that most compliments your cover for your approved BASH! UE project.

Well I hope to knock it out of the park with a line of roster books entitled "Zenith Comics Presents".

I am just super happy to be supporting BASH! and I also want to thank BASHMAN not only for an awesome game, but being open to outsiders making product :)

You're welcome Aslan. I figure, the more support available, the more people will be interested in BASH! - so why begrudge them?

PS- first post has been updated a bit.

Hey quick thing, can we get an over large version as a transparent PNG? For resizing and such? That would be just fantastic :)

Update: Here's the updated Compatibility Logos:

If you are making an approved BASH! UE compatible product, you can use one of these logos to label it. Three colors are available so you can pick the one that goes best with your cover.

Greetings, all. I've become very intrigued by this system.

Sorry I'm late to the party, Chris, but I came by way of the Rough Road and I think I may have, at last, arrived where I was supposed to be. I readily admit that you tried to tell me, but I had to go through a few challenges to get here.

Nonetheless, here I am, and I think I may stay.

And, well, I've brought along an entire OmniVerse with me...
