I like finding screenshots to illustrate my characters. Like you said, it makes them seem more real.

A practice we have in our games when creating characters is coming up with WWPHITM (Who Would Play Him/Her In The Movie).

We also 'play that game' from time to time

Last time we did that was for our Dark Heresy game.
My character was played by a Sean Bean in his thirties^^ (Sharpe years)
My previous character (a Psyker that died) was played by a young Brad Dourif (Dune years)

If the link doesn't end with the file extension (.jpg) that means the remote link won't work. So you've got to find the exact link to the image (usually by copying the link with a right click)

I already got my old sketch of Overdrive, but i wanted to have a picture of Harrison as a civilian, like he's supposed to be right now.
(Maybe later I even make a new art for Overdrive, a bit grittier...)

I tried to tweak some photos to get a 'painted like' character.
But it was not great.
I think I'll draw over the picture to get a better result...

Which leads me to that terrible fact^^
I won't draw him this week because I'll be away to the mighty Albion from friday to sunday.
I'm not sure I'll be able to access the web...
The game has just started and I'll probably miss crucial scenes!

Clashing is good! Always have to have a good mix in a *... even explosive ones. Seriously, most good teams are well-rounded in outlooks on life.
