Hi everyone,
I read vampiric and sounds great. My only concern is : isn't it too expensive ?

I mean : Take a Special Attack with Linked Healing. The cost is the same.
For a lvl 1 power (or one that does x1 DM) it works exactly the same, but for a level 5 power the difference is much bigger.

Would it makes more sense to make it cost a +1 instead of a +2 ?
Or am I missing something ?
Thank you !

You cannot take special Attack linked with Healing really because Healing requires you do nothing but heal and barely even move when you use it.

The best you could do is have a Healing that has a limit on it that you must have hit with an attack the previous page to make it work to emulate that.

Being able to heal WHILE doing other things at the same time is a big advantage over regular healing.

Think of it this way: you are basically getting Healing 1 with a special enhancement that it automatically works whenever you hit with a certain attack. In that context it is actually cheaper than normally possible, including the fact that it is less restrictive to use than regular Healing.

Thank you BASHMAN.

Yes, that makes sense.
But I could reply : well I could buy Healing -Second Nature.

So for 1 point more I can buy a Healing 4 for a Super Attack 5...
is it correct or I did not understand how healing works ?

As long as your Narrator would allow that. I personally would not. I think Second Nature is too unbalancing to allow with Healing, which normally is deliberately limited.

It isn't just a downside of the power, it is a rule as to what one can do in a panel. Any sort of restorative powers, like Healing or Restoration, count as an attack for the purpose of determining what you can do on your panel. That part cannot be ignored with Second Nature; it isn't a part of the power, it is a general rule.

Second Nature can mitigate some of the

The Regenerative and Vampiric Enhancements are meant to make some small amount of Healing available beyond the use of regular Healing power, but Healing as-is is meant to be limited in use from a balance / game pace perspective.

If you want to have a character with the power of "I get cut in half and insta-heal back together" that is essentially a reskinning of Armor. Take Healing as well, (and add the Regenerative Enhancement) and that can be pretty effective.

Thank you again BASHMAN
I see, now.

Wow so Healing count as an attack even if it is Second Nature ?
I have to review one of my campaing's character.

He is a vampire and he has

Multipower Blood Powers (use "Blood" -energy- points)
-Slot 1 : Celerity : Superspeed 1 Second Nature +1 (No Tiring)
-Slot 2 : Regeneration : Healing 3 Second Nature +1

Total cost : 4 points (he has a total of 20 character points so 1/5th)

The idea beyond that was : he can use only one blood power in a given page, so he can use the superspeed (so have 2 panels) OR heal himself and have just one panel to attack.
He can't use healing to "heal out of scene" for free 'cause it would cost him blood points.

For Blood Points I created a "custom" rule :
He can regain blood points only by draining someone's blood. I took "energy points" and figured out to double the points (seeing that he can't "regenerate" that points simply resting).
So he has 20 blood points and every time he use a blood power he spend 4 points. Well, so I cut it saying he has 5 blood points and he spend 1 point every time he use a power (same math)

What do you think ?
How you would rewrite that ?
Thank you again

I did something similar for a psychic vampire character I made in BASH! Fantasy. Here is what I did for him:

Disadvantages:

The Torment of Hunger: Thomas does not like being what he is, and he knows if he feeds on someone he may lose control and kill them. He avoids feeding at all costs whenever possible. If Thomas feeds, you gain 3 Setbacks.

Addict: Thomas must feed his inner demon (the source of his Energy) by feeding off other people’s lust. He cannot recover lost Energy below 8 unless he feeds.

Feeding: If Thomas feeds on another willing person, they take x1 Damage and he Recovers 1 Energy, x2 Dmg and he recovers 2 Energy, x3 Dmg and he recovers 3 Energy, etc. This damage is psychic, and does not heal by normal means. Each day the victim heals 1 point of this damage. Thomas can also “graze” for 4 hours to recover 1 Energy without doing much harm to his “clients”.

This model might work for you with the Blood Points; and I think having the total pool closer to 20 might make the character more playable.

I'd make the "Need to Feed" to recover energy happen when he is down below 15 Energy.
